Dr Anupama Rohidekar is Aastrika Midwifery Centre’s Senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She has over 25 years of experience in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Dr Anupama has conducted births in both low and high resource settings. Most recently, she has worked in Yemen and Iraq with Doctors Without Borders, where she has conducted several births independently.
Dr Anupama has completed her MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and a post graduation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from G S Medical College, Mumbai and Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. She is also a certified water birth practitioner, trained under the international expert Barbara Harper.
Dr Anupama believes in providing women-centric care and is known among her clients to be encouraging and detailed in all her interactions.
Dr. Bhavana Gundumane completed her MBBS and DGO from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. She went on to earn the prestigious MRCOG certification from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK.
She further advanced her skills with a Fellowship (FMAS) and Diploma (DMAS) in Minimal Access Surgery in 2025.
With over 9 years of experience, Dr. Bhavana has worked across India and internationally, including roles as a Consultant and senior registrar at Bridgetown international university medical center and Queen Elizabeth hospital, Barbados, and as a Junior Consultant at Motherhood Hospital, Bengaluru.
She specialises in high-risk pregnancies, deliveries, gynaecological care, and minimally invasive surgeries, and is known for her patient-centric, evidence-based approach.
She currently resides in Bengaluru with her family.
Dr. Kavya has completed her MBBS from SRTR GMC, Ambajogai (MUHS, Nashik), MS (OBGYN) from GMCH, Aurangabad (MUHS, Nashik), and DNB (OBGYN) from NBE, Delhi. She also holds a Diploma in Cosmetic Gynaecology (ICCG) and FPGD in Uro-Gynaecology (SIU).
Before joining us, Dr. Kavya has worked in several places as Chief Medical Officer (Emergency Medicine) – SRTR, Ambajogai, Maharashtra,Senior Registrar (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) – K.B. Bhabha Hospital, Mumbai,Locum Gynaecologist – Apollo Hospitals, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai,Senior Resident (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) – NMMC, FRU, Vashi, Navi Mumbai (Sept 2024 – Present)
She brings with her overall 6 years of clinical experience and currently resides in Bangalore with her family.
Dr. Ashok’s journey includes an MBBS from Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Science, MD (Pediatrics) from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, and a Fellowship in Neonatology from Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. His passion for intensive care, particularly for neonates, is rooted in hands-on experience in a level 3 NICU during his residency and fellowship.
With over thirteen years of expertise, he has adeptly managed cases ranging from hyperbilirubinemia, extreme prematurity, meconium aspiration syndrome, birth asphyxia, respiratory distress in newborns, sepsis, neonatal seizures, PPHN (Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn), CCHD (Critical Congenital Heart Disease), IEM (Inborn Errors of Metabolism), and more.
Dr. Varshini P is a full-time Paediatrician at Aastrika Midwifery Centre. With over 7 years of extensive experience, she worked as a senior resident in paediatric intensive care providing curative and restorative treatment to maximize patient outcomes and satisfaction. She managed various critical patients and ventilator cases brilliantly by performing emergency procedures in PICU and NICU, neonatal resuscitation, and counselling.
A distinguished member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Dr. Varshini received her undergraduate degree from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College and her postgraduation degree from the Rajarajeswari Institute of Medical Science.
Dr. Varshini is a brilliant paediatrician and a strong advocate for the child. Her thorough guidance starting from the day a child is born is a blessing for any new parent.
Anjumol Jospeph is Aastrika Midwifery Centre’s Midwife. Anjumol holds a degree in GNM & Certification as a Professional Midwife from Fernandez School of Nursing, Hyderabad. She has a total of 12 years experience as a staff nurse in Women & Child Health Care in Fernandez Hospital and a Registered Nurse and Midwife in King Abdullaziz University Hospital in Saudi Arabia.
Anjumol has managed several births independently and has extensive experience working in labor wards. She has expertise in patient monitoring, vaginal examinations as well as handling latest medical equipments.
Salomi comes with a total of 23 years of experience, she has worked as Lecturer, Assistant & Associate Professor, and staff nurse. Prior to Aastrika, she worked for St.John’s Medical College of Nursing, St.Martha’s College of Nursing, Fernandez Hospital, and other hospitals. Salomi holds Masters in M.Sc(N) OB/Gyn., Bsc Nursing, and Diploma in GNM. She has undergone training as a Clinical Midwifery Trainee at Fernandez and has been working in the labour department.
Salomi hails from Kerala and has moved to Bangalore now to join Aastrika.
Tintu comes with 11 years plus experience working in labour wards & Obstetrics department, she holds a Diploma in Nursing (GNM) and completed a professional Midwifery course at Fernandez Hospital. Prior to Aastrika Tintu worked for Fernandez Hospital and Rainbow Children Hospital, Bangalore.
Tintu hails from Kerala and lives in Bangalore with her family.
Kavita works as a Junior Midwife at Aastrika Midwifery Centre. She has 13 years experience working in Labor Delivery Rooms & Recovery(LDR) and other departments.
Kavita holds a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwife (GNM). Her interests include cooking and reading.
Chandramma is a Junior Midwife at Aastrika Midwifery Centre. She has 10 years of experience with Labour Delivery & Recovery (LDR) and has been a ward in-charge for gynaecology.
Chandramma holds a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwife (GNM). In her spare time, Chandramma likes to read books.
